Golfers of all levels hit the links earlier this month at the prestigious Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ont., in support of Jewellers Vigilance Canada (JVC).

Cocktails served on a patio overlooking the greens helped kick off the evening, followed by a dinner. Proceeds from a silent auction also went toward JVC.

“We were pleased to see the number of golfers increase over last year,” said JVC executive director, Phyllis Richard, of the tournament, which is now in its 15th year. “The support shown by all our sponsors and participants is much appreciated. JVC continues to evolve, becoming more relevant to the needs of the Canadian jewellery and watch industry. Our crime prevention program is a good example of an initiative that began a decade ago and is now seeing growth in its maturity among industry members and law enforcement. The funds raised at this tournament will assist JVC in continuing on this path.”

JVC—a non-profit organization—was established in 1987 to advance ethical practices, establish a level playing field for the Canadian jewellery and watch industry, and provide crime prevention education.
