Vancouver-based Crossworks Manufacturing is the latest Canadian company to be certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).
“RJC certification is a great goal for us and we are keen to promote the RJC globally,” said Crossworks president Uri Ariel. “We support the RJC’s work in providing transparency throughout the diamond pipeline to the consumer, and are proud to work with our partners in promoting responsible business practices.”
Crossworks—which established Ontario’s first diamond-cutting and polishing facility in Sudbury, Ont. in 2009—is owned by HRA-SunDiamond Group.
“I am delighted to congratulate Crossworks Manufacturing on its newly achieved RJC certification,” said the council’s chief executive officer (CEO) Michael Rae. “Crossworks is the first North American cutting and polishing manufacturer to be certified by [RJC]. Many members have commenced the process toward certification and we very much look forward to announcing their achievements over the coming months.”
Crossworks was audited by certification firm SGS in Canada against the RJC’s ethical, human rights, social, and environmental standards.
