To some, amber is simply fossilized tree resin. To others, it opens up a world of creative possibilities, which is why designers, artists, and craftspeople are being encouraged to submit entries to the 17th Amberif Design Award.
Held in conjunction with Amberif 2013, the contest aims to highlight the stone’s design potential and develop greater understanding of Baltic amber’s properties and nature.
This year’s theme is “€¦simply a ring.” Winners will be selected by a jury made up of jewellery designers, an art critic, exhibition curator, and art and design teacher.
A maximum of two entries can be submitted and participation is free.
Submissions should be in the form of 2-D boards sent to MTG SA head office at the participant’s expense or in electronic format e-mailed to amberif@mtgsa.com.pl. The deadline is Feb. 10.
