Gemological Institute of America’s (GIA’s) annual New York Jewelry Career Fair will be held July 25.
Free and open to the public, the event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Representatives from gem and jewellery companies will be looking to hire hundreds of skilled and motivated professionals at every career stage. Last year’s event attracted recruiters from 48 companies and more than 600 job seekers.
In addition to hiring opportunities for gem and jewellery careers, one-on-one career coaching with some of the industry’s brightest names will be available.
GIA president and CEO Susan Jacques will moderate “Job Success in Today’s Market,” which will feature the following industry leaders on a panel:
- Rahul Kadakia, international head of jewellery for Christie’s;
- Steven Lagos, founder and chief creative director for LAGOS;
- Natalie Tjaden of Jewelry Television; and
- Yancy Weinrich, senior vice-president of JCK.
