The fight against preventable blindness just got a helping hand from Omega.

In celebration of its partnership with Orbis International, the Swiss watch brand has developed three new pieces: the De Ville Hour Vision Blue, the De Ville Hour Vision Blue Annual Calendar, and the Constellation Star. A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to Orbis and its ‘flying eye hospital.’

Omega brand ambassador Cindy Crawford got to see first-hand the impact Orbis makes when she visited with the organization in Trujillo, Peru, where it is currently stationed.

While at the Instituto Regional de Oftalmologia (IRO), the hospital with which Orbis is working to train the local ophthalmic community, the former supermodel spent part of the day with several young patients who had recently received treatment from Orbis for their visual impairments.

Orbis works in 92 countries to provide hands-on medical training, tools, and technology for local partners to address avoidable blindness in their communities. As a result, over 23 million individuals have received medical care and more than 325,000 eye care professionals have been trained.

Orbis brings together dedicated eye care professionals and aviators on the world’s only flying eye hospital to deliver the gift of sight. Local doctors, nurses, and technicians work alongside Orbis’s medical team in the airplane’s operating, laser, sterilization, and recovery rooms to preserve and restore sight.

The partnership between Orbis International and Omega began with the 2012 documentary, ‘Through Their Eyes,’ and has included a number of events that have highlighted the humanitarian organization’s goals and accomplishments.
