A change in leadership has been announced at Mountain Province Diamonds.
President and CEO, Stuart Brown, has announced his departure from the Canadian mining company, effective immediately. The exodus was a mutual decision made by Brown and Mountain Province Diamonds, the company reports.
Director and chair, Jonathan Comerford, will assume Brown’s role in an interim capacity while the board searches for a full-time replacement. Additionally, the departing CEO will help facilitate the company’s transitional period.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Stuart for his strong and committed service as CEO of Mountain Province for the past three years,” Comerford says. “Stuart has guided the company through difficult times for the diamond sector, including the very challenging COVID-19 pandemic. He leaves the company in a stronger position entering 2022. We appreciate his considerable efforts and accomplishments and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
