
Deborah J. Finleon has been appointed associate director, chair of education, for National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA).
Finleon was lead editor of the newly revised NAJA Home Study Appraisal Course that was unveiled at the 44th ACE It Mid-Year Conference in Washington, D. C. earlier this month.
Her primary responsibilities will be to update and keep current the Home Study Course and oversee the development of the online appraisal course. Further duties will be to assist the executive director in course development, conference proceedings, and other administrative functions.
Finleon has more than 14 years’ experience in the jewellery industry, ranging from design to retail to appraising. Her appraisal work spans countless assignments for both retail and private clients, as well as attorneys, estates, and consulting. Finleon is one of four certified master appraisers (CMA) in NAJA, the highest designation within the organization.
