A collection of more than 1000 laboratory-grown diamonds is set to take centre stage as part of the Virtual Diamond Boutique’s (VDB’s) latest digital offering.
The gem and jewellery e-marketplace has announced its second online auction in collaboration with supplier, Mercury Ring. The sale, which will take place via the VDB Online Auction House app, will feature more than 1000 loose, high-quality lab-grown diamonds, all of which have been certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI).
The platform aims to streamline B2B industry auctions and connect buyers and sellers in an efficient, secure way, VDB says. Bidders looking for a specific type of laboratory-grown diamond can input their search criteria to find an assortment of stones prior to bidding rather than searching through every item up for auction.
“We are excited to launch the second in our series of lab-grown diamond auctions with VDB,” says Mercury Ring president, Ateet Shah. “Our goal is to make our top-quality laboratory-grown diamonds accessible to the industry in a secure and affordable way.”
The auction will take place Feb. 15 to 17. Users will be able to submit bids by total price, per carat price, or discount per cent. Additionally, all retailers who download and register for the app will receive an offer to buy a one-carat Mercury Ring laboratory-grown diamond for $500 a carat.
