Record-breaking attendance at JIS Miami

SB_bigstock-Miami-Beach-CovJIS Miami recorded its largest attendance ever, shattering last year’s turnout by 16 per cent, says its organizer, Reed Exhibitions.

The record-breaking numbers are being attributed to the event’s new and enhanced features, introduced after Reed acquired JIS in May.

“There was a new energized excitement about the show, now that it’s a part of Reed Exhibitions and the Reed Jewelry Group,” said Jordan Tuchband, industry vice-president of JIS.

“You could feel it even before the doors opened at 10:00 a.m.; the lines at registration were astonishing and unlike anything I’ve seen in my time with JIS.”

The show—held at Miami Beach Convention Center from Oct. 15 to 18—ran in conjunction with the inaugural Luxury Miami event, along with a number of new and expanded pavilions, including ones dedicated to Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association (HKJMA) and the Plumb Club. Attendees enjoyed a variety of upgraded lounges throughout the show floor with snacks and beverages, and lunched on a three-course meal at the Hidden Gem Café.

The next JIS Miami trade-only event will be held Jan. 16 to 18 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
