Reed Exhibitions has cancelled JCK New Delhi due to the weakened domestic jewellery market in India.

According to a statement on the show’s website, the cancellation was made “in the best interests of exhibitors and visitors alike and an announcement regarding the 2010 event will be made in due course.”

The show was originally slated to be held at Pragati Maidan from June 27 to 30.

Some media outlets are saying the decision comes after a report in an Indian publication in early March that Reed Infomedia India Ltd, the joint-venture between Infomedia 18 Ltd and Reed Business Information, had ceased operations.

Reed Infomedia publishes JCK India, along with three other magazines and a web portal. There is word an agreement in principle has been reached to continue publishing JCK India and another title.
