Forty units of Bulova Accutron’s Sir Richard Branson Limited Edition Watch are now available in Canada.
Developed in collaboration with the Virgin Group founder, the Swiss-made timepiece features a 21-jewel self-winding mechanical GMT movement and the names of 24 destinations on the perimeter, each corresponding to one of the world’s 24 time zones.
Each watch in the series is inscribed with its number on the case back. The model’s moulds will be destroyed after production. Branson is Bulova Accutron’s brand ambassador, chosen for the many parallels between him and company founder, Joseph Bulova.
“As entrepreneur, humanitarian, and pioneer, Sir Richard exemplifies the values and dedication that have guided Bulova from the beginning,” said Dennis W. Perry, president of Bulova Corp.
“Like our founder, Joseph Bulova, Sir Richard is an innovator who has had a groundbreaking effect on a number of fields. The Bulova Accutron Sir Richard Branson Limited Edition Watch exemplifies the connection between Sir Richard’s relentless pursuit of new ideas and Joseph Bulova’s vision of creativity and inventiveness.”
Branson is donating the proceeds from his work as Bulova Accutron’s brand ambassador to Virgin Unite. Created by Branson in 2004, the non-profit foundation works to use business as a force for good in tackling social and environmental problems. Bulova is donating a portion of its proceeds from the watch’s sale to the group.
