Industry journalists gathered in New York City earlier this month to experience first-hand Stuller, Inc.’s 3D jewellery design software, CounterSketch Studio.
Geared toward consumers and with the help of participating retailers, the program allows users to design their own one-of-a-kind jewellery in four steps.
The Louisiana-based company says CounterSketch Studio puts the power of the jewellery designer into the hands of consumers.
“CounterSketch Studio will revolutionize customization in the jewellery industry,” said Matthew Stuller, the company’s chief executive officer, founder, and president. “We’re very excited by the positive response we’ve received from our jewellers that have begun to work with the software.”
Beginning with the starting point inventory, the client can customize the stone’s size and shape, as well as the band’s width and height. Slider controls also perform real-time 3D alterations to various design aspects. Once complete, the jeweller then places the order and the customer receives their unique piece eight days later.
CounterSketch Studio uses software designed by Gemvision Corp., a provider of CAD/CAM products.
“It’s not just a program, it’s a whole new way to make a business connection,” said Gemvision president Jeff High.
Trade journalists from the United States and Canada, including Jewellery Business’ editorial director, Blair Adams, participated in the CounterSketch Studio media training day.
