2017 Jewellers’ Golf Tournament highlights

The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) and the Jewellers Vigilance Canada (JVC) hosted the 2017 Jewellers’ Golf Tournament on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ont.

Due to rain, this year’s round of golf didn’t go as planned. Fortunately, the weather didn’t stop participants from getting into the spirit of the tournament. In the clubhouse, cocktails and a delicious dinner were served, bids were made on generously donated silent auction items such as a Kyle Lowry-signed basketball and Elizabeth Arden beauty set.

As the evening progressed, tournament prize winners were determined by drawing names out of a hat.

This year’s winners include:

Men’s Longest Drive: Dana Smith
Ladies Longest Drive : Mary Milan
Closest to the Keg: Vikram Arora
Putting Contest : Phillip Trevedi
Kiddie Pool Contest: Rob Maggisano
First Group win: Beth Saunders and Gail Golberg
Second Group win: Movado Group consisting of Ben Carroccetto, Tibor Finesz, Phillip Trevedi, and Rob Maggisano

From the funds raised, both Georgian College and George Brown College received $1000 for their jewellery programs.
