A 28.86-carat diamond ring, estimated between US$1 million and $2 million, will soon become the highest-valued lot ever offered at a Christie’s online-only sale.

A 28.86-carat diamond ring is set to be crowned the highest-valued lot ever offered at a Christie’s online-only sale when it goes under the hammer next month.

The emerald-cut, D-colour diamond, which boasts VVS1 clarity, is estimated to sell for between US$1 million and $2 million at the Jewels Online auction.

It is also the largest D-colour diamond to ever be offered online.

“This year has presented unprecedented circumstances, enabling Christie’s new opportunities through our enhanced digital platform,” says the auction house’s international head of jewellery, Rahul Kadakia. “Year-over-year, we have seen an increase in online participation and the value threshold for transacting online.”

The auction will be held online, June 16 to 30. For more information, click here.
