Gold Silver Guy, a jewellery store in Nanaimo, B.C., was recently the target of an unconventional and well-planned heist.
According to a Vancouver Sun report, the thieves smashed through an exterior wall. Once inside, they cut out the security system and emptied the metal safe. It is estimated they got away with $62,000 in merchandise.

The store’s owner, Jeff Ross, told the Sun he has been robbed four other times this year alone. In fact, across his 10 stores, Ross has been the victim of 22 break-ins over a period of 25 years. This most recent incident is the second time he has been robbed of more than $60,000 this year. He claims this extensive history of break-ins has rendered him unable to purchase insurance for the past eight years.
Ross has little hope his inventory can be recovered and is considering closing up shop.
