The Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA) has named Bergio International chief executive officer, Berge Abajian, acting president of AJA International.
The announcement came last month during the association’s annual board meeting held during the 2013 Yerevan Show.
Abajian assumed his new role Nov. 1, taking over from Gagik Gevorkyan.
The international board also includes vice-president Arto Artinian (Thailand), secretary Hovel Chenorhokian (France), and treasurer Raffi Marukian (United States).
“I would like to congratulate my dear friend and business partner, Gagik Gevorkyan, for doing an excellent job in putting forth the utmost time, effort, funding, and business savvy to bring this once budding organization to fruition on a worldwide level,” Abajian said.
“I am honoured to be acting president of such a great organization filled with many accomplished businessmen and women, and vow to continue building on our previous agenda, while pushing the association onward toward the future.”
Founded in 1998, AJA has more than 3000 members internationally, with regional representatives worldwide. The association was created to bring Armenian jewellers together globally, while providing a platform for professional networking, as well as educational and professional programs and events, seminars, exhibitions, conferences, and other relevant investment projects.
