Encouraging the growth, development, and connectivity of women professionals who will shape the future of the jewellery industry is the driving force behind a new scholarship opportunity from the American Gem Society (AGS).

The non-profit trade association has launched the AGS Women in Leadership Scholarship. The opportunity will bestow a complimentary registration to the AGS Conclave beginning in 2024, along with a $500 gift card for travel.

Additionally, the recipient will receive up to five one-hour personal mentoring sessions with industry leaders who have been selected based on the goals and interests of the selected candidate. The sessions will provide valuable insights, advice, and guidance with an emphasis on career advancement.

“The AGS Women in Leadership Scholarship is an important initiative to support and foster the growth of female leaders within the jewellery industry,” says AGS CEO, Katherine Bodoh. “Through this scholarship program, our goal is to empower women, foster growth, and unlock opportunities that bring mutual benefits to individuals and our industry.”

“I am thrilled we are able to offer this scholarship, building connections and learning from one another is one of the best ways to grow both personally and in a career,” adds Lisa Bridge, president of the AGS board of directors.

Submissions will open this fall. Applicants will be evaluated on professional achievements, leadership skills, and potential for future growth and industry contributions. The recipient will be notified in January 2024.
