AJA reveals 2024 Design Competition winners

The Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA) has announced the winners of its 2024 Design Competition, a global event highlighting the talent and craftsmanship of jewellers and designers with Armenian heritage. Following a thorough judging process, the finalists were chosen for their exceptional creativity, technical expertise, and presentation. The judging panel consisted of prominent experts in the jewellery industry, including:

  • Myriam Gumuchian, Co-owner of Gumuchian
  • Alexandra Kaprielian, Head of Development at Kaprielian Enterprises
  • Varouj Tabakian, Jewellery Designer
  • Victor Velyan, Jewellery Designer
  • Philippe Atamian, Director of Faerber Collection HK

 

The five winning designers will showcase their work at the GemGenève exhibition in May 2025, where they will present their creations to an international jewellery audience.

The winners of the 2024 Design Competition are:

  • Mike Saatji, “Petali”­­—Bangkok, Thailand
  • Armen Shahinyan, “Mermaid”—Yerevan, Armenia
  • Vladimir Manukyan, “Gerghard Inspired Bracelet—Yerevan, Armenia
  • Karen Hovhannisyan, “Ostrich”—Yerevan, Armenia
  • Vasken Melikian, “Hookah” Object—New York, USA
