[1]Alrosa says its H1 diamond production for 2015 totalled 18 million carats, up 13 per cent year over year.
The company reports revenue from rough diamond sales in the first half of the year will reach at least $2.1 billion US. It sold nine million carats of diamonds in the second quarter, including 5.6 million carats of gem-quality diamonds at an average price of $176 US per carat and 3.4 million carats of industrial diamonds at an average price of $11 US per carat.
Alrosa says its rough diamond prices declined in the second quarter by three per cent, while overall prices were down six per cent since the beginning of the year due to a slowdown in the diamond market.
