The American Gem Society (AGS) has launched a mentoring program, designed to foster personal development and professional growth for its members.

“The AGS Mentoring Program can make a real difference to our industry,” said Georgie Gleim, senior advisor to the AGS board of directors. “The mentors in this program are the connecting thread between the leaders who built the industry… and the industry’s leaders of tomorrow.”

The mentoring program provides experienced members of the AGS with the opportunity to give back and assist in the professional development of other members. Those who are being mentored will be given the chance to build their professional network, define their career goals, and overcome any obstacles on the way to achieving those goals.

This is not AGS’s first mentoring program. In the ‘80s they launched the Young Titleholders Program, to foster a new generation of industry leaders. Those who were previously the mentees have now become the mentors for this new program, passing on the wisdom and knowledge they have garnered.
