Opening day at the Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show saw a nine per cent increase in attendance over last year.

“The show floor had a palpable buzz every day of the event,” said Dan Darby, GLM vice-president and U.S. Antique Shows group director. “Many of our exhibitors reported that show sales far exceeded their expectations.”

Exhibitors featured one-of-a-kind pieces from the likes of Cartier, Rolex, Tiffany & Co., David Webb, Harry Winston, Patek Philippe, and Van Cleef & Arpels, as well as antique, vintage, and estate jewellery and watch collections. Other styles include coral, aquamarine, and topaz, along with classics like diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and rubies.

Exhibitor Lenore Dailey reported a strong showing from international attendees.

“As in the past, my customers represented many different cities and countries,” she said. “I did business with English, Dutch, Belgian, Italian, and Australian dealers, plus many buyers from New York and California.”

The next event scheduled for U.S. Antique Shows is the Pier Antique Show on Nov. 22 to 23 in New York City.
