Swiss watch manufacturer Oris and world-record apnea diver Carlos Coste have renewed their partnership. Coste holds 11 freediving world records, and in 2003, was the first person to break the 100-m barrier.

In 2005, the Venezuela native won the first world championship in constant weight at 105 m. The following year, Coste set the world record for freediving in the variable weight modality with a depth of 140 m.

In 2010, he set a new Guinness world record for freediving by completing a 150-m underwater swim using no apparatus. To honour Coste’s accomplishment, Oris launched the Carlos Coste Limited-Edition Cenote Series.

“We are very proud to partner with Carlos Coste,” said Ulrich W. Herzog, executive chair of Oris.

“He shares our philosophy and values in sustaining the highest professional work standards and is dedicated to the world of diving. He fits our company mission perfectly: ‘real watches for real people.'”

In addition to being Oris’ brand ambassador, Coste works closely in testing and approving its line of diving watches. “I’m very excited about the future with Oris,” Coste said.

“The brand is at the forefront of technology, constantly ensuring their diving watches provide the advanced functions that are vital for diving enthusiasts. They offer the ultimate in precision and reliability without compromising on style and I’m looking forward to jointly discovering new frontiers over the next years.”
