The World Diamond Council’s (WDC’s) first vice-president has been tapped to lead the group, following the resignation of Eli Izhakoff.
Last May, Izhakoff announced he would be stepping down after 13 years. Paz begins his term at the end of June.
“I will be handing over the office to an experienced and dedicated diamond industry public servant,” Izhakoff said in his address to the WDC’s annual meeting held in Tel Aviv.
“Avi was a multi-term president of both the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) and the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), and he has served for many years on the WDC board of directors. I look forward to a smooth transition.” Â
