
A man suspected of robbing a Victoria jewellery store whilst armed with a hammer has been arrested.
The incident took place mid-afternoon on Apr. 15. The suspect entered the store, pushed his way past staff, and gained access to three display cases before fleeing with a significant number of stolen items, Victoria Police report. The suspect fled before the responding officers arrived.
Following an investigation, police identified and located the suspect. He was taken into custody, following an attempt to flee on a bicycle.
The man faces multiple recommended charges, including armed robbery, assault with a weapon, and breaching numerous court-ordered conditions.
Upon identifying the suspect, officers determined he was also wanted on six warrants for various other offences. He remains in custody.
