A Barbie wearing a pink diamond choker is expected to fetch up to $500,000 with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
A Barbie decked out with a one-carat fancy vivid purplish-pink diamond is going up for auction to raise funds for breast cancer research.

Wearing a black strapless party dress and pink peep-toe stilettos, the one-of-a-kind Barbie is designed head-to-toe by fine jewellery designer Stefano Canturi. The diamond is set in a collar necklace in Canturi’s signature geometric pattern featuring carré- and baguette-cut diamonds (3 ctw). The world’s most expensive Barbie has an estimated auction value of $300,000 to $500,000 and is being offered by Christie’s New York at its Jewels: The New York Sale on Wednesday. The emerald-cut diamond is from the Argyle mine.

All profits from the sale will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We are honoured and thrilled Stefano Canturi chose the Breast Cancer Research Foundation as the beneficiary of this special Barbie,” said (BCRF) chair and founder, Evelyn H. Lauder. “It is a perfect match as BCRF supports special research.”
