Baselworld managing director leaves the show

Sylvie Ritter, longtime managing director of Baselworld[2], has announced she will be departing her role with the trade show. The decision comes after 15 years in the position, and 26 years with show organizer MCH Group[3].

“It’s time for me to start something new and take on new challenges,” said Ritter of the change.

“Sylvie Ritter has shaped and directed Baselworld with great passion and professionalism,” said MCH Group CEO, René Kamm. “We very much regret her departure, and I would like to thank her on behalf of the entire MCH Group for her extraordinary commitment during her many years of activity within our company.”

As of July 1, the role will be filled by Michel Loris-Melikoff, whose experience includes work as a lawyer and as a manager of an international event agency. Loris-Melikoff has been with MCH Group for three years, and is already looking ahead to the show’s next edition.

“We will be expanding the Baselworld team and further developing the event to continue along the path of quality enhancement and to meet the challenges of the future,” he said. “We are tackling this task with a large number of new ideas and with valuable input from exhibitors, visitors, and the media.”
