Canadian Anne Sportun is one of four designers featured in Blue Nile’s ‘Designer Collective,’ an online showcase of established artists and emerging talent.
The collective offers 14- and 18-karat gold and sterling silver pieces that designers have made exclusively for Blue Nile, ranging in price from $55 to $6000.
“We are excited to be a part of the Blue Nile Designer Collective,” Sportun tells Jewellery Business. “This new direction is a fresh approach to showcase artists to a new audience. We structured it so that our valued retail accounts will also benefit from the online reach and brand exposure as Anne Sportun for Blue Nile designs are a separate collection and will not conflict with the collections that are exclusive to our retailers.
“Brand collaboration has become an increasingly popular way to supercharge innovation. Even the most successful companies have benefited from participating in a joint project with another complementary brand—it’s about staying fresh and relevant! Brand communication has evolved, with customers accessing and sharing information on a multitude of online platforms. It’s in our hands to amplify that experience and become more accessible. At the end of the day, a brand’s future value lies in the community it creates and we see our partnership with Blue Nile as a way to build and bridge both our community and theirs. It’s an exciting time!”
The online retailer says the collective is one way of offering its customers a more bespoke product assortment.
“Our customers choose Blue Nile not only for our fine quality, value, and guidance, but also for our personalized designs, and the Designer Collective will enhance their experience,” said company chief merchandising officer (CMO) Julie Yoakum.
The other designers in the collective are:
• Bree Richey of Massachusetts;
• Denise James of Idaho; and
• Robert Leser of New York.
