While exhibitors reported no significant difference in the number of individual orders, their depth and dollar volume were a welcome surprise. Organizers say the three-day event held in August drew 3437 buyers, a one per cent increase over last year’s attendance numbers.
“The increase in attendance for our 2010 shows reinforces the gain we experienced in 2009,” said Mode Accessories Show partner Alice Chee. “This is proof positive the market has taken a turn from the lows in late 2008. It has persevered through a difficult year in 2009, and with lessons learned, recovery is cautious and wiser. The smaller incremental gains year over year show a steady controlled growth, not wild fluctuations.”
A second fall show is scheduled for Sept. 26 to 27 at the Toronto International Centre, Hall 6. For more information, visit www.mode-accessories.com or call (416) 510-0114.
