Canadian jewellery designer Reena Ahluwalia has designed a new jewellery line in collaboration with Royal Asscher to complement its ‘Stars of Africa’ collection.
Canadian designer Reena Ahluwalia is partnering with Royal Asscher, creating five pieces of jewellery as part of the company’s ‘Stars of Africa’ collection.

Comprised of necklaces, pendants, and earrings, the new line complements the floating diamond design of the existing collection.

The collaboration grew out of a meeting between Ahluwalia and Lita Asscher, a sixth-generation Asscher.

“Royal Asscher has a legendary history of innovation and an unblemished ethical record in the diamond world,” said Ahluwalia. “As a jewellery designer, there is no greater motivation for me than to be able to contribute to positive social changes through my art and the ideas it spreads. I was privileged when Lita presented me with this opportunity to be a part of Royal Asscher’s commitment and vision for the Star of Africa Initiative.”

The jewellery features full-diamond globes that spin on their axis and are encircled by orbit-like elements. Each represents education, health care, and empowerment, issues the initiative aims to support through its fundraising programs. The globes symbolize the Earth, while the diamonds represent humanity’s spirit.

Royal Asscher unveiled the new line at JCK Las Vegas.
