Created by BMAC to help introduce up-and-coming artists to the wholesale market, the award grants winners free business counselling and help promoting themselves. It also provides them with exhibit space at the BMAC tradeshow in Baltimore, Md., next month.
“Retailers attend tradeshows looking for new products, but many talented artists lack the resources to exhibit at these shows,” said BMAC director Christine Kloostra. “With this award, beginners make their debut at the Buyers Market, where they can show work directly to professional buyers.”
Buyers at the show include museum gift stores, art and craft galleries, and home decor boutiques.
