After two years at Ottawa University, the 21-year-old Ottawa, Ont., resident enrolled in the program to finish up his degree sooner.
Now, he’s taking what he learned at GIA and applying it in another field.
“The concentrated focus the BBA classes provided, especially those courses related to retail and consumer behaviours, will serve as a strong asset to understanding business fundamentals across the board.”
“This program was useful because I was taking all of the material I was learning and applying it to whichever industry I was interested in. This way, it made me more versatile and increased my personal learning curve,” he said, adding part of his family’s business is in retail jewellery.
The BBA program provides a business education focusing on marketing, retail management, accounting and finance, entrepreneurship, and international law and trade specific to the jewellery industry. The courses are offered through distance education or on campus.
Wade H. Clar, Jr., of Canandaigua, N.Y. is other graduate.
“Wade and Tyler are excellent examples of how BBA students are able to apply the practical business applications learned in many different industries and job positions,” said Mink Stavenga, dean of GIA’s School of Business. “We look forward to following their professional success down the road.”
