Canadians front and centre at Revere Masters Symposium

Master jewellers and students from around the world will gather in San Francisco for the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts’ 14th Annual Masters Symposium.

Canadians Charles Lewton-Brain and Gregoré Morin are set to share their expertise at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts’ 14th Annual Masters Symposium.

Held from April 7 to 27 in San Francisco, Calif., the gathering will see 14 masters classes taught by well-known goldsmiths and other experts from around the globe.

Classes are open to students at all levels.

A master goldsmith and professor of art, Lewton-Brain shares his techniques for fold forming and will lead a class on fabricating catches, findings, and mechanisms, while Morin and his wife, Jennifer, will guide a class as they create a line of jewellery.

Other seminars include:
• lapidary and metalworking techniques by Michael Boyd;
• tips and tricks for designing elegant and efficiently made jewellery in multiples, dies, patterns, and keum-boo by Jayne Redman; and
• chasing and repoussé by Italian metalsmith Davide Bigazzie.
