Jewellery Business recently spoke to Bénédicte Lavoie, co-owner and vice-president of Montréal-based fine gemstone supplier, Pierres de Charme[1] (PDC).
A regular contributor[2] to the magazine, Bénédicte is a specialist in fine coloured gemstones, as well as a Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain. She co-owns PDC with her mother, Martine Lavoie, who is the company’s president.
This year, PDC marks 10 years in business, and, in celebration, Bénédicte and Martine are hosting a networking opportunity for the jewellery industry. The event, which will be held Aug. 31 in Saint-Laurent, Qué., will feature a silent auction with proceeds supporting the Niassa Lion Project[3]. (For more information on how to donate, email info@pdcgems.com[4].)
We spoke to Bénédicte about what attendees can expect at the event and got her take on which gemstones are hitting the mark these days.
