Two jewellery designers may get the break of a lifetime.
The Centurion show is now accepting entries for its sixth annual emerging design competition. The winners will receive a showcase and exhibit space at the Centurion Scottsdale show in Arizona, which will be held Feb. 1 to 5, 2014.
“The Centurion Emerging Design Competition is an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming and international designers to break into the U.S. luxury fine jewellery market by getting their line in front of the most premiere audience of carefully selected prestige jewellers,” said Centurion president Howard Hauben.
“For retail jewellers, the Centurion Emerging Design winners offer an opportunity to discover new talent to set your store apart.”
Sponsored once again by Stuller, Inc., the contest is open to any jewellery designer—regardless of experience, formal training, or background in jewellery design—who has never exhibited in a U.S. fine jewellery trade show.
Entrants must show lines or one-of-a-kind designs that are suitable for a luxury jewellery store environment and be capable of both exhibiting at a trade show and fulfilling any wholesale orders received during the event.
“We are honoured to have the opportunity to sponsor the Emerging Designer Competition,” says Stuller executive director of marketing and public relations, Ashley Brown.
“The discovery of untapped talent is essential to the jewellery industry. And their work offers a fresh perspective on luxury design that’s both exciting and inspired.”
The deadline to enter is Sept. 30. Entrants must submit up to three images of finished jewellery; no renderings or CAD drawings will be accepted. Images must be .jpg format, and each image must include a detailed description of the piece (i.e. what it is, metals, gemstones, etc).
