Bead company Chamilia now has three reasons to celebrate.

Company founder, executive vice-president, and chief design officer Killian Rieder has been named a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 Upper Midwest Awards Competition. Co-founder and board chair Jeff Julkowski and executive vice-president and chief business development officer Michael Flaherty were also named finalists.

“To be recognized as finalists in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Competition is a testament to the diligence of the entire Chamilia team and our extraordinary growth as a company,” Rieder said. “It is an honour to receive this nomination, which captures the entrepreneurial spirit of Chamilia.”

The awards recognize entrepreneurs demonstrating excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Rieder founded Chamilia with her husband, Julkowski, in 2002, following a career in New York City’s fashion industry. Hitting the trade show circuit, the couple built the business by targeting specific retailers with their bead collections. Four years later, Flaherty joined the team and set to work building a global brand and distribution network. Chamilia is now available in more than 4000 points of distribution around the world.

Rieder, Julkowski, and Flaherty were selected as finalists from nearly 40 nominations. The winners will be announced at a gala event on June 15 in Milwaukee.
