Citizen is doing its part to help victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, donating $1.3 million to the relief effort.
Headquartered in Tokyo, the company has offices, factories, and employees throughout Japan.
Citizen Watch Company of America (COA), which encompasses the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, had previously donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross’s Japanese effort. Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd. later announced an additional donation of $1.25 million.
“Our thoughts are with them, along with the millions of other people affected by this terrible disaster,” said COA president Laurence Grunstein.
COA says it selected the American Red Cross for its ability to quickly help communities affected by the Japanese tsunami and earthquake.
