The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) has bestowed its 2013 Chairman’s Award on Kevin Kaye, president of Citizen Watch Company of Canada.
“I am honoured and humbled to be the recipient of the 2013 Canadian Jewellers Association Chairman’s Award,” Kaye said.
“The Canadian Jewellers Association has always represented the best in the Canadian jewellery industry, be it its members, board, and staff. It is the strong voice speaking for the industry on a variety of topics and issues. As a past president of the association, I feel truly privileged to be recognized by my peers in this manner.”
Established in 2000, the award honours an individual who has gone above and beyond to enhance the profile of the Canadian jewellery industry by maintaining the highest professional standards and integrity.
Kaye served as CJA president in 2000, and was a sitting board member from 1994 to 2002. He was instrumental in the sale of Jewellery World Expo in 2001, which CJA president and chief executive officer (CEO) J. David Ritter has previously described as a turning point for the association, allowing it to focus on the issues facing the industry.
“It was a pleasure and personal honour to present the 2013 Chairman’s Award to Kevin Kaye,” Ritter said. “Kevin has supported not only the Canadian Jewellers Association, but the entire jewellery industry in Canada with his knowledge and insight, which has made our industry stronger and more prosperous.”
