“I welcome the opportunity to be a part of the Canadian jewellery industry,” Ritter tells Jewellery Business. “Steeped in its rich history, the Canadian jewellery industry represents a tradition of dedication, quality, and creativity. As president of the Canadian Jewellers Association, I look forward to being in contact with all facets of our industry so that we can better meet your needs and concerns.”
In addition to overseeing the association’s business affairs, Ritter will also manage CJA’s day-to-day operations, including public affairs, funding, staff, and new initiatives. As a member of its executive committee and board of directors, he will also represent CJA locally on the Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct Committee and the Jewellers Vigilance Canada (JVC) board. Ritter is also the designated CJA representative for CIBJO (The World Jewellery Confederation).
“Through a strong and dynamic association, we can improve our position in the Canadian market and around the world,” he adds.
With more than 30 years experience in business-to-business and business-to-consumer professional services, Ritter served previously as vice-president of Canada Law Book Inc., executive vice-president of CLB Media Inc., and president of Gadikin International.
He takes over the reins from Ken Mulhall, who resigned in January.
