Stornoway Diamond Corp., says it expects delays on completion of its 243-km year-round access road to the Renard Diamond Project.
In a press release, the company said Quebec’s Ministry of Finance is holding off awarding contracts for civil works on segments C and D until it conducts a review of overall construction expenditures on the road.
Construction of the Route 167 Extension—by way of the communities of Mistissini and Chibougamau—is being undertaken in four segments: A to D.
So far, work on A and B is progressing well, with 109 km out of 143 km completed to sufficiently provide vehicle access.
The road was originally scheduled to be completed by July 2013.
