Philip Bouasse of Montreal won last year in the ‘Wedding Day Pearls’ category with this pearl necklace.

Cultured Pearl Association of America (CPAA) is now taking submissions for its Sixth International Pearl Design Competition.

The contest invites artistic expression inclusive of all pearl varieties and is open to seasoned artists and beginners alike.

Officially launched during JCK Las Vegas, the contest runs through Sept. 17. Winners will be announced Nov. 2. Winning entries will be on display during the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) and JCK shows in 2016.

All entries have an equal chance to win due to CPAA’s theme-based judging, whereby the judging panel selects an entry they feel represents the theme to the fullest.
