Custom Gem Cutting picks up Csarite distribution

[1]Milenyum Mining Ltd., has named Custom Gem Cutting as the authorized distributor of Csarite in Canada.

The Stouffville, Ont., company is led by brothers Rudi and Ralph Wobito, master gem cutters with roots in Idar-Oberstein.

“As the primary cutting facility for the rare and precious Csarite, it makes perfect sense for our company to also distribute this product to our many constituents,” Rudi said.  “Our intimate knowledge of the skill required to cut Csarite uniquely positions us to help teach the Canadian jewellery industry about the attributes of this colour-change gem.”

Previously known as zultanite, Csarite is the new trade name for a colour-change diaspore found only in Turkey.

Milenyum Mining has donated Csarite rough crystals to the Canadian Gemmological Association for study and education.

“We are thrilled with this contribution,” said CGA president Duncan Parker.

“Given its rarity and newness to the market, having [Csarite] on hand is instrumental in teaching our students about this unusual and precious gem.”
