De Beers Canada is now a member of the Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct (CDCC).
“On behalf of the CDCC, we would like to welcome De Beers Canada as a signatory to the code and applaud its recognition of the code’s value to the integrity, transparency, and growth of the Canadian diamond industry,” said CDCC chair Phyllis Richard.
The addition of the mining giant to the code’s membership means all operating mines in Canada are now members.
De Beers Canada operates the Snap Lake mine in the Northwest Territories and the Victor mine in northern Ontario.
The code allows traceability of Canadian diamonds from the mine to the retailer, providing consumer confidence in their authentication.
