Diamond Trading Company (DTC) sightholders will receive a one-year extension to their current three-year contracts, the company announced.
The Diamond Trading Company (DTC) has announced it is offering current sightholders a one-year extension on their three-year supplier of choice (SoC) contracts.

The extension begins on Mar. 31, 2011 and runs until Mar. 30, 2012.

DTC says a new three-year supply contract will come into effect in 2012 and that sightholders and non-sightholders can put in their applications for DTC supply beginning in the second quarter of 2011.

“By extending the current intention to offer (ITO) by one year, we are providing both sightholders and non-sightholders with the time they need to focus on recovery,” said Varda Shine, chief executive officer (CEO) of DTC. “We welcome the interest shown by companies that wished to apply to become sightholders in 2011. We hope they understand the necessity of our decision not to run an assessment in 2010. We look forward to engaging with them during the application process for the 2012 to 2015 contract period, which will take place next year.”

The extension also applies to sightholders receiving sights in Kimberley.

Both DTC Botswana (DTCB) and Namibia DTC (NDTC) will be proposing to extend their current contracts by one year, running from Mar. 31, 2011 to Mar. 30, 2012. The companies say they envisage entering into new three-year SoC contracts with qualifying applicants for the 2012 to 2015 contract period.
