The 2013 Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards has recognized online retailer Jewlr as the Most Innovative (Large) Retailer.

Online retailer Jewlr took home Most Innovative (Large) Retailer honours at the 2013 Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards.

“We are absolutely thrilled with our win,” said Jewlr founder, Tony Davis. “We were up against some of the biggest brand retailers in the Canadian market, and walked away with top honours. This award, and our success in the marketplace, has clearly demonstrated consumers are looking for innovative shopping experiences that give them the ability to create custom-made personalized items that can be delivered in a matter of days.”

Jewlr combines custom design technology, 3-D printing, and traditional handmade manufacturing to deliver personalized jewellery, including rings, pendants, charms, and earrings.

The company is one of seven retailers who will share a $1-million prize package, which includes shipping services and customized direct-marketing packages.

“Canadian shoppers have increasingly high expectations when it comes to online user experience, product selection, shipping and returns solutions, and customer engagement,” said René Desmarais, senior vice-president, parcels, Canada Post.

“Jewlr is among a select group of innovators that are pushing the boundaries and creating opportunities for homegrown commerce. We are very pleased to recognize and support their success.”

The awards were handed out at a gala event in Toronto. The judging panel included:
