EGM student receives Chubb Prize for Excellence

The first-ever Chubb Prize for Excellence has been bestowed on Alessandra Rosa Di Geso, a student at the Ecole de Gemmologie de Montreal (EGM).

The award is given out in collaboration with the school, and recognizes outstanding results by a graduate in its gem and jewellery appraisal course.

“Our intensive course is open to certified gemmologists and is based on Canadian guidelines and internationally recognized standards with a strong emphasis on practical work,” said Odile Civitello, founder and director of EGM.

Chubb’s Julie Ann Coyle presented the prize during a reception at the Birks Café by Europea attended by industry representatives like David Ritter, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) and Duncan Parker, president of Jewellers Vigilance Canada (JVC) and the Canadian Gemmological Association (CGA).
