An emerald and diamond fringe necklace is one of the highlights at Christie’s Geneva auction of ‘Magnificent Jewels’ next month.
Held on Nov. 10 and featuring more than 400 lots, the event will also highlight ‘The Pink,’ considered the largest cushion-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond ever offered at auction. It has an estimated sale price of 80Â million CHF to 100 million CHF ($108Â million to $135 million Cdn).
“Weighing 16.08 carats, ‘The Pink’ is truly a natural phenomenon displaying the ideal tone, saturation, and brilliance that is so coveted in pink diamonds among collectors all over the world,” said Rahul Kadakia, Christie’s international head of jewellery.
“Along with royal jewels, a great selection of natural pearls, and from a perfect pear-shape white diamond of over 50 carats to a Burmese sapphire weighing 118 carats, the sale has something for everyone with jewels priced from 2000 to 20 million CHF ($2700 to $27 million Cdn).
The emerald and diamond fringe necklace was a gift given to Princess Hélène of Orléans, a descendant of Louis Philippe, King of France, on her wedding day to Duke of Aosta. It has an estimated sale price of 1.45 million CHF to 2.4 million CHF ($2 million to $3.2 million Cdn).
