Russian jewellery house Faberge released a first look into its Faberge x 007 capsule collection. Advertised as the perfect Easter gifts for James Bond and jewellery aficionados, the newest pieces are a limited-edition Faberge egg and a diamond-and-sapphire-adorned, egg-shaped locket.
These two pieces inspired by the 1983 Bond film Octopussy, which depicts a fake gold and gemstone Faberge Easter egg, are only the first in a series for the collection.
The centrepiece at the heart of the initial release is the Octopussy Egg Objet (price available on request), limited to just 50 numbered pieces. Its hand-painted surface features green enamel similar to that of the film’s fake egg, more than 180 diamonds (at a total carat weight of over 1.5), and, on the inside, an 18K gold octopus with black diamond eyes.
Accompanying the egg is the special-edition Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket (US$16,500). It boasts a matching green enamel exterior with a guilloche engraved pattern and an 18K gold lattice, complemented by 15 blue sapphires and 60 white diamonds arranged in a floral motif. Inside awaits a miniature 18K gold octopus, also adorned with black diamond eyes.
Faberge’s creative director, Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, says “Whilst work is continuing on the development of a large-scale, one-of-a-kind Faberge x 007 Egg Objet, we’re very proud to be unveiling this Octopussy capsule collection.”
The Faberge x 007 collection is available at select boutiques, including Faberge’s locations in Dubai and Macau, as well as online through the Faberge website, the official 007 Store, and authorized retailers worldwide.
