Russian jewellery house Fabergé has announced new pieces in its collaboration with James Bond, including a special egg surprise locket commemorating the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger (1964) and a ring from the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy capsule collection. These latest creations join the previously released Fabergé x 007 Octopussy egg surprise locket and egg objet.
The first piece revealed from the Fabergé x 007 Goldfinger capsule collection is an 18K yellow gold locket inspired by the iconic Fort Knox gold depository featured in the film. Shaped like an egg, it opens to reveal a heart-shaped Mozambique ruby dripping in gold, symbolizing Goldfinger’s obsession with gold. The locket’s bail is designed to mimic the ‘G’ of Goldfinger, mirroring the font of the character’s signet ring.
The next piece, the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Ring, is crafted from 18K brushed yellow gold and showcases an octopus design that wraps around the finger. Forty-eight brilliant-cut diamonds, representing the octopus’ suckers, adorn the tentacles, while two additional diamonds serve as its eyes. True to Fabergé’s tradition of surprise, a hidden Mozambique ruby is nestled within the ring band, known only to the wearer.
“Another set of beautiful additions to our Fabergé x 007 James Bond Partnership with EON, these collectible pieces continue to commemorate iconic symbols and themes from the Bond universe and are brought to life in signature Fabergé styles,” says Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, Fabergé Creative Director.
