Sotheby’s[2] will be bringing a golden opportunity to London, England, this fall. The company is introducing a new auction called ‘The Midas Touch[3],’ which is set to feature gold artifacts from various cultures and time periods.

According to Sotheby’s, this is the first-ever auction to focus entirely on the precious metal. Although the lots for the sale have yet to be determined, the company says it could include everything from sculptures and art pieces to texts on goldsmithing.

“Non-corrodible and highly versatile, enduring where other fashions faded, gold has mesmerized artists both old and new and inspired some of the greatest masterpieces in art history,” reads Sotheby’s description of the sale.

A physical auction is scheduled to come to London on October 17, coinciding with an online version that will run October 9 to 19. For more information, click here[4].
