The price of blue, pink, and yellow diamonds continued to rise during the third quarter, according to the latest Fancy Color Diamond Index (FCDI) from the Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF)[2].

The index, which is based on pricing details collected for blue, pink, and yellow diamonds traded in Hong Kong, New York, and Tel Aviv, reveals a 0.7 per cent increase overall this quarter and a 1.1 per cent increase throughout the year.

The general increase was led by blues (0.8 per cent), with pinks and yellows close behind (0.7 and 0.6 per cent, respectively).

“This increase was actually expected, as fancy colour prices were too low for too long,” says FCRF advisory board member, Eden Rachminov. “In my opinion, most colours will keep increasing in price over the next two years, especially the yellow category in all grades.”
